The course describes the various phases of the food safety and quality management systems in product development and food preservation aspects. The course identifies the need for food safety and quality in food systems. The course explains the scope of food safety and quality aspects in food industry institutions. The course content is delivered through videos (+8supplementary)lessons in 2 weeks duration. Every week, learners will have to go through the video lessons. The self-learning materials support the video lessons. In addition, a number of web links will be provided to support the study materials and to get updated information. Self-assessment questions will be provided after each lesson. Learners have to complete the assignments after going through major sections of study material. This Postgraduate elective course on 'Food safety and quality management' is useful to those who are working or who want to build their career in food entrepreneurial and allied sectors as this course provides basic learning about food safety and quality.
